To commemorate Pope John Paul II's visit to Yad Vashem, The International School of Holocaust Studies, in conjunction with Beth Shalom Holocaust Memorial Center in the United Kingdom, published the book "The Holocaust and the Christian World".

"The Holocaust and the Christian World" examines the role of the Christian Churches during the Holocaust and its consequences for Christian thought and practise in the contemporary world. The book presents a broad range of perspectives from European, North American and Israeli scholars, Christian and Jewish, about individuals and institutions in Nazi-occupied Europe during World War II and the Holocaust. While "The Holocaust and the Christian World" does not whitewash the conduct of the Christian churches during the Shoah, neither is it intentionally provocative in its criticism. "The Holocaust and the Christian World" will confront the uninitiated and inform the interested.

The fee for "The Holocaust and the Christian World" is $25.00.For information on how to order the book, please write to: publications.education@yadvashem.org.il
